Rabbi Search Committee
Dear Members of the TBSEV Family,
As we search for a new Rabbi, we are governed by the rules of two organizations: The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism [USCJ] and the Joint Placement Committee of the Rabbinical Assembly [JPC]. JPC requires we complete a long and detailed questionnaire describing our Congregation and the qualities we seek in our Rabbi. It is the job of the Rabbi Search Committee (RSC) to complete this questionnaire, creating a “resume” for TBSEV.
Our next step in this process is to conduct Focus Groups and Town Hall Meetings, which will provide an opportunity to get together and discuss. The Town Hall meetings will be open to all members and associates of the TBSEV family. The Focus Groups are aimed at more specific demographics. In order to give everyone a chance to speak up and be heard, the RSC asks that you only attend one Focus Group that best pertains to you.
The dates and meeting descriptions are as follows:
Seniors: March 27, 2018 (Tuesday) @ 10AM USY: April 7, 2018 (Saturday) after Havdallah Religious School Parents: April 8, 2018 (Sunday) @ 10AM Town Hall (ALL ARE WELCOME): April 22, 2018 (Sunday) @ 10AM Adult Children of Members/Singles: April 29, 2018 (Sunday) @ 10AM Staff/Teachers: April 29, 2018 (Sunday) @ 12:30PM Town Hall (ALL ARE WELCOME): May 8, 2018 (Tuesday) @ 7PM
If for some reason, you cannot attend these events, you can always contact the RSC, but we cannot stress enough, the value of attending a group event and interacting with other members of the congregation.
We are faced with both an opportunity and responsibility to shape the future of TBSEV. Please help us to be successful in this endeavor by participating.
